Shelby's JDMS Journal of Events
March 2000 to present

Week 68 - Ending June 28th

Tuesday June 19th : Shelby is looking forward to Camp Spririt which is scheduled for June 24th - June 30th at Camp Kitaki near Omaha, NE. This is an annual Camp for children with arthritis and arthritis-related diseases. This will be her first camp experience so I'm sure she's feeling a little nervous. We know she'll do fine and have lots of fun. She's looking forward to swimming, doing crafts, hiking, and riding horses.

My sister Jenelle, Shelby's Aunt, was diagnosed with Still's Disease. This is an arthritis-type disease that is also rather rare and not very well known. I'm doing a little reading on-line about it now. More to come on that. It seems slightly coincidental that two female members of our family have a disease with similar symptoms.

Shelby's upper arms are now covered in the same type of rash we first saw back in March of 2000. It seems that the Colchicine may be aggravating this condition rather than improving it. We called Dr J and he said to keep her on the medicine and if no improvement is noted by the time he sees her July 3rd, he will take her off of this.
